New Nutrition Partners!
Hello again friends,
Wow, it’s been a little while since we’ve put up a new blog entry. Welcome back!
If you’ve been in class for any length of time, you’ve probably heard me ask you about what you’ve been eating. Believe it or not, this isn’t just curiosity or misguided hunger talking. When you train in class, you’re burning calories! Unfortunately there’s a lot of misinformation floating around about nutrition. Fad diets, expensive specialty products, and outdated nutrition information tend to muddy the waters. How do we sort through it all?
My first recommendation is always to eat enough real food. Meat, fruit, vegetables, even the now terrifying “carbs” category (rice, potatoes, etc.) is a necessary component in a balanced diet for the mild to moderately active athlete like you. We need a little of everything for our bodies to operate properly! If you need help figuring out your particular needs for your unique body, please consult a Registered Dietician or reputable Nutritionist.
Beyond that, sometimes some help is required to deal with deficiencies from diet, age, or disfunction, and the changing nutrition requirements of an advancing athlete. This is where I tend to recommend looking into nutrition supplements.
We’ve recently partnered with the good people at Supplement Warehouse in Bolingbrook, IL. They are knowledgeable about all the products they carry, and helpful regardless of your familiarity with the world of nutrition supplements.
Stop by their retail location in Bolingbrook and tell them you train at Amalgam to receive a discount at checkout. They’ve also added code “AMALGAM10” to all of their sites, Bestpricenutrition.com, Supplementwarehouse.com and Mysupplementstore.com.
Good luck and enjoy. See you on the mats!
